Re: Cap and BPS Was someting else

I got together with my brother kelsey, and we put together a 480bps
rotary gap. Its a 1/3hp 3600 rpm moter with 8 flying electrodes and 1
stationary gap.
I am wondering about our cap. We have run the rotary
with good results on our existing system of 2 15kv 30ma nsts and a .012uf
cap.

Heres the question,
We have two 4200v potential transformers, that the way we have them
wired and ballasted are giving us 16800v at 133ma, does the cap need to
be .03uf like the designer program says, since it is not taking the high
bps into account?
We are all ready to increase our capacitance, but that means we have to
double our plates and dielectric.
This thing has to work by Saturday night for a big Halloween party. We
can just test it, but want some input from you guys as well.
Peace,
Ry
