AMEN!!!!!!!!!!. Personally I've had good luck with eBay; bought a mint
condition 465 scope at a bargain price. One bad experience is the 17"
Apple monitor I'm using right now. It was cheap enough, but the guy who
send it didn't pack it well and the case is cracked at two corners. It
wasn't worth enough to go to the trouble of packing it right and
returning it, and it still works fine. However, buyer beware!!!

Another place I've good luck is with the Recycler here in the LA area.
Don't know if there are such sites elsewhere, but the Recycler web page
allows searches on just about anything, selective by price, phone
prefix, etc. The advantage of getting local stuff is that you can go
look at it before buying. Best deal I've gotten was a good PowerMac
with monitor and printer for only $40. Came from a guy who lived less
than a half mile from where I do. The principle of buyer beware applies
here as well. If you don't know what your'e getting AND what it's worth
don't buy it!!!
