the MMC is of course smaller than a homebuilt capacitor and looks 
professional. But at $2.25 CAN for a 450 nF 1500 VDC rated MMC....a MMC cap 
bank rated at 30 kVDC -at- 150 nF would be close to $625!!

however,

In cost the bucket capacitor is way better all around. There is NO need for 
salt water! Just use Aluminum foil and mineral oil and you are set. a (110") 
bucket + insert gives 7.4 nF and is VERY light weight. 8 buckets with 
inserts gives a 180.56 nF -at- 30 kVDC capacitor (thats 16 buckets total)!! The 
price is mearly $26 for all Poly buckets plus, $2 for foil, $11 for aluminum 
tape, and $5 for Mineral Oil. THATS IT!!

PS..if a layer blows, just replace it.
