Transformerless Tesla coil - more power

Hi:

I increased the power of my transformerless Tesla coil, increasing the
input capacitance to 5.14 nF and redesigning the system for twice
higher voltage gain. I can obtain now 12 cm streamers, and sparks
with similar length. I added two pictures to:

Next experiment will be a directly coupled magnifier.
I am really liking these directly coupled systems. It's
much easier to make the isolated inductors than the complicated Tesla
transformers. Everything can be assembled and disassembled easily.
I liked also my MMC construction, mounting the capacitors and resistors
in an acrylic plate inserted in a PVC tube. Something to experiment
is to see what is the influence of the radius of curvature of the
breakout point. I will try balls with different radiuses at the
top of the tuning antenna.
