MOT means Microwave Oven Transformer.

Ferrite is a brittle, ceramic-like material containing
finely powdered Iron and/or Iron Oxide. Most of the
ferrite I've seen was black, gray, or charcoal
colored, but it may be painted or pigmented almost any
color. It is used in the cores of chokes and other
wire-wound inductors to provide higher permeability
and higher inductance than air in a smaller package
with fewer turns of wire. It is manufactured in many
shapes and sizes including rods, toroids, bobbins,
beads, etc. It is used in more electrical and
electronic products than I can number, but you will
find ferrite core components in most, if not all
modern consumer electronics (TV, computer, stereo,
VCR, etc.)

Cheers,

Greg
