Hi Daniel

Cutting across laminations produce stresses which disrupts the orientation
of the magnetic grains. Then the laminations would have to be heated and the
grains reoriented. I have no idea how this is done at the factory. I have no
idea how much the disorientation would affect transformer or inductor
performance. This might be something to think about.
