SSTC/Flyback Drivers - single chip approach

Hi All

Has anyone tried building a mini-SSTC or a flyback driver with a 
Fairchild Power Switch or something similar from another manufacturer?

If not, you may be interested in this SMPS+MOSFET in a single package - 
certainly a neat solution for many types of power supply.  The Fairchild

Think I might try to get a couple of samples to test for myself.
