Suitable Cap???

Original poster: "Marry Krutsch by way of Terry Fritz <twftesla-at-qwest-dot-net>" <u236-at-earthlink-dot-net>

Hi Everyone.

I have 12 caps with the following specs :

Manufactured by Chicago Condensor Corp.
0.1 uF
+- 10%
3000 VDC
Type #3943 (whatever that means)

The case is 2.5" square by 7/8" deep. There are two 3/4" insulators on
top (a bit large for 3000 VDC ?). Judging by the size (1/2 the size of
a microwave oven cap), and the rating, could I (correctly) assume that
the dielectric is not mylar? Could it be polyethylene? I ran a bank of
these on my coil (long ago), and they SEEMED to stay cool. Then again,
I only ran it for 5 seconds or so. They are $3 a piece, and I was
thinking of buying more.

I was going to send a picture, but I wasn't sure how it would work.
How do you send a picture to the list?*

Thanks
Winston
