Hi Rick,

Check your arithmetic. A 14400V/1500VA PT will put out
a tad over 100ma, which is pretty serious power for
hobby-type coiling. PTs are pretty robust, and I bet
this one could be run well above its 1500VA rating for
short periods without harm.
