Yes, it's connected to the flying lead. Thanks all!
The number is indeed 161RM60 made by International Rectifier for which I've
not been able to find a datasheet nor any reference even on their website.
All I was able to dig up was what the numbers stand for and a drawing of the
package Case Style TO-209AB (TO-93).
