They go "pop!" a heckuvalot easier than a string of 1N4007s will - they 
are only rated at about half an Amp, with good luck and a following wind ;-)

For TC use, currents can be just a little bit on the large side for 
these beasties, although I think that they may be OK in latter stages of 
a Cockroft Walton multiplier (not the first stage) - someone please 
correct me if I'm wrong.
