RE: To set the record straight

Hi Bert,

"Ouch" - those were my words exactly. Funny I went to the USPS website and
didn't find any reference to international shipping. Obviously I just needed to
look harder. Those rates are in-line with what I originally expected.

Anyway thanks to everyone who replied. This list is such a great resource of
knowledge with so many people from different backgrounds and cultures that it
continually amazes me.

I got a good deal on a lot of these transformers and since I was going to buy
one for myself anyway decided that I could offer the rest to the list at a
discount over retail and have one leftover that was basically free.

This started for me because the comment was made to Malcom "why don't you just
get one of your friends to send you one". It's was obvious Malcom wanted to
participate but was at a disadvantage for no other reason than geographic
location. Though I've never met anyone on the list in person, we all share a
common interest and after two years reading others posts and learning from
them I kind of feel like we're all friends.

Looking forward to meeting some of you at the cheesehead teslathon.

Hi Mike,

Ouch - This sounds too high! USPS may be less expensive. Assuming the shipping
weight was 5 pounds (the transformer weighs 3.5 pounds), the USPS charges for
Airmail Parcel Post would be about $28.75 (4-10 days) or Economy Surface Mail
for $21.50 (4-6 weeks). You can check out the rates for other weights at:
