Re: control panel

Here are some components you should probably start on stocking up for a good
distribution panel:

1. Very large variacs - particularly multi-stacked variacs such as
Powerstat 1256D type.
2. Allen Bradley control buttons and switches and indicators are great
industrial controls - check ebay
3. Key enable switch
4. E-STOP buttons
5. High current Contactors (check ebay)
6. Fuse blocks
7. Some sort of rack enclosure or similar

The main concern for this panel is safety. Should have the following:

1. Fuses (or heavy duty circuit breakers) for input power. Size fuses and
circuit breakers to protect the wire
2. E-STOP circuit - immediately cuts power to everything.
3. Analog type simpson current voltage meters (digital ones rarely work
under tesla coil noise etc...)
4. Key safety switch
5. Interlock circuit to cut power when control panel is open (if its a very
large one etc...)
