Safety Ground, as in the third (green) wire ground... not as in an RF
ground.  I have a healthy distaste for large electrically floating metallic
surfaces with which a grounded (floor/green wire) person may come in
contact.  If the table isn't safety grounded (can be a real long wire...),
then, an inadvertent short from the HV side of the power supply (as from a
funky pair of streamers that touches both primary and table) will cause the
table to be at HV relative to the observers, operators, casual watchers who
are leaning on the table.
