Terry,
These are the photos of the Spiderweb Primary and various parts of the
Capacitive Transformer TC.

Description.
The Spiderweb Primary- note the strings of holes used to keep the bare wire
from shorting(traditional spiderweb coils used slots and insulated wire); I
have great hopes that this will prove a simple way of improvising a "flat
spiral" primary using thinner-guage wire for "Mini" and possibly bigger TCs.

the Capacitive Transformer TC is basically the same as that described in ACMQ's
web page http://www.coe.ufrj.br/~acmq/tesla/mres4ct.html
except that it is much smaller. Electrostatic coupling occurs between influence
plane (foil ring) and the ungrounded terminal of L2, there is no magnetic
coupling.

The Capacitor is built from 16 plastic film cans connected as 8 paralell
strings of 2 series capacitors. The cans are filled with saline wallpaper paste
"gel" (capped off with beeswax to prevent evaporation and arcing) on the inside
and are coated onthe outside with metal foil.
Total capacitance is in the region of 250pf.

The Inductor L1, which resonates with C1 the tank capacitor C1 much the same as
in a regular TC.Wound on film can with 52 turns of 24SWG enamelled copper wire.

The HV rectifier is 60 x 1N4007 diodes connected in series to effect DC
charging of the capacitor; the diodes prevent C1 from losing energy by
discharging back into the secondary of the ignition coil (high voltage
transformer) between charging pulses.
( I use a 555 astable and Velleman K2543 electronic transistor ignition running
of 13.8VDC 5A supply to drive the ignition coil)

The Sparkgap is 7 element zigzag static gap (copper water pipes supported by
U-shaped metal supports on Paxolin insulator).
