We weld up our cases and use phenolic tops.  Total weight around 110 lbs vs
190 lbs.

Cost around $650 for recased unit.  Time & labor costs add up fast.

Why use 2 HV ears when you simply do not need them?  Then you need two RF
filter circuits instead of one.  No reason to bother at all.

I really believe in the KISS acronym.
