I would think that with NST's, resonant or LTR operation would
give the longest spark lengths.  Of course LTR operation is safer
for the components.  For pig powered (and similar) systems,
somewhat LTR operation may give the longest spark lengths if low
break-rates are truly more efficient than higher breakrates in
an optimal system.  Certainly pig powered systems work well
with STR and LTR cap values.  STR and LTR values must be based
on the current limited behaviour of the pig in the circuit, not on the pig's
inherent characteristics.
