Re: Kevlar

I'm not entirely sure they're actually Kevlar, but they ARE incredibly
tough. They're a MAJOR pain to cut, very flexible, and easy to get.

I *strongly* urge you to get a used one, do NOT try to discharge an
automotive airbag. They go off like a cannon, make a serious mess, and
remain searing hot for quite a while after discharge. They also cost a
couple hundred to replace :) We got ours when we removed the dual airbags
from Geek-3. We touched off the first one in a parking lot and it launched
well over 40' in the air and set off car-alarms a considerable distance
away. The second one we detonated in a farm field.

Both bags have held signifigant failures, explosions, and other creative
bits of research without a puncture or failure, including many exploded
metal-can caps and samples that have experianced the full force of our
Project Thumper's discharges (80 caps, 2000uF-at-=/<450VDC).

If you talk to any body shop, they're likely to give you an old airbag
pulled from a junk or wrinkled car free if you ask sweetly.
