Dave: It sounds like you did not mix your resin/hardener well or your resin
is bad. Coat the tacky area with hardener. If it hardens your mix was bad.
if it doesn't you were sold bad resin.This is a quick test. USUALLY THE
PROBLEM IS BAD MIXING not bad resin. The wrong mix ratio or not good mixing
will cause your problem .I have used epoxy 3 years out of date with no
problems. I have used bad resin and had to recover a bad mess. Polyester
resin hardener will age if stored in a warm environment ,but the resin is
usually good. You must use good hardener.
