Peter,

Firstly, being an Aussie, do you have enough power to run a coil this big?
I have a dedicated 32 amp, 240v line for my coil, which I push to 40-45
amps for short periods. This is the biggest legal residential single phase
supply you can get in Australia. And I do tend to cause brownouts down the
street. I also have a 32amp/phase 3-phase supply, which I will one day use
to make a masssive 3 phase DC supply.

I get easy 12 footers with 38 amps from my 12" coil. Unless you intend to
run over 15KW or so, I wouldn't go any bigger than 12" on the secondary.
Robin Copini runs his 10" coil at 20kW or so, and gets nearly 5m of spark.
Just checking that you aren't making a huge, hard to handle coil, that you
won't even be able to run at full potential.

I'm guessing you know what you are doing, and have access to an industrial
supply in a factory or something. BTW, I would love to see it running!!!
