Hi, Ok it's time for me to kill the pcb/tar/asphault myth. Having been in
the Navy and worked with a 2500 gallon tank of the stuff for 3 years.
first the reason pcb is used is for electrical insulation medium for which
it works very well. If we add tar to pcb oil you would have a gooey mixture
loaded with carbon(a conductor of electricity) which would contaminate the
pcb and render its insulating properties useless! Peroid! as for any other
reason to add pcb to tar? there is none that i know of. I cannot discuss the
special equipment needed to keep the pcb free of contaminants
but that is what makes pcb a great insulator! cul brian f.
