Hi All,

I was just sizing up my 15" coil for recycling into a maggie. The
secondary had 454 turns of #14 and a Fr of 110-120KHz. I was thinking of
stripping it to 200 turns, and reusing the 9 turn 3/8" tubing primary.

The secondary must of had second thoughts, as it just fell over, damaging
all the poly in a nice line all the way up to the top. At least copper is
paying good at the scrap yard, as I now have 30# of it.

The business end of the plan is going to be a 6" coil with 1000T of #26,
with a 34x8" torrid from the bulk buy. Both the driver and base of the
extra coil will have corona rings sized to the diameter. (Yes, they will
have a gap.) The extra coil pedastal will raise the base of the coil
approx 4-4 1/2' above the ground. Power, at least to start, will be the
coils original 15/120 NST supply with a SRSG using two sets of
electrodes. I would like to go with a set of Maxwell type caps, but I
still have enough room in the base for a MMC.
