	Winding by hand I just hold the coil in my lap and turn, always keeping
pre-cut tape on hand in case I have to stop.  By tensioning it with the
thumb as I wind I can get a very nice tight winding.  As for using the
drill, don't know what speed you tried but it would have to be pretty
low.  My 3/8" drill running at minimum speed (clamp on the trigger)
works OK, but it still a little fast.  I always feed the wore over the
END of the spool, first making sure that it is smooth and has nothing
that can snag the wire.  For fine wires the twist has no effect and,
since there is only the inertia of the wire and not the reel, no dange
of breakage.
