Why are folks jumping up and down over big battery arrays and worrying 
about DC cable sizes?  Getting multi KW of DC is no challenge.  Getting an 
SSTC to process this amount of power is, and even more-so if you're 
starting with DC.  Anyone capable of designing a 10KW SSTC driver is 
probably capable of finding a power source for it.
