DIY Ferrite Transformers (was: Flyback Driver PCBs...)

Original poster: Matthew Smith <matt-at-kbc-dot-net.au>

Malcolm Watts writes regarding "flyback" style (LO) transformers:

>Or you can wind your own. All you need to start with is a C-C core
>made of some power switching type material like Philips 3C8 or for
>line-type frequencies, 3C6x like the older ones b&w TVs used. I've
>wound a number to my own recipes.

Matthew replies:

I've wound any number of new primaries for these but secondaries?

If this is in the range of the amateur constructor, what's the trick?

Every dead line-out transformer contains a C-C core crying out for re-use...

Cheers
