Sort of off topic, but I wonder how they bond the lengths together?  Some PE
has been prepped for adhesives (using tiny sparks to create twistly little
passages that provide a mechanical "tooth" for the glue to hold on to), or,
they could weld it, or they have fixtures that clamp it in some way.  The
gentlemen I talked to were only digging the trench, not installing the pipe.
