I just tried to draw what I am using using ascii and it looked awful. I
found ina pile of old aquarium fittings some air line adjusters, I know
modern ones are plastic but this type was plated brass (I removed the
plating), they are J shaped more or less with a screw through the top, so
that if the copper tube is placed in the crook of the J, screwing the screw
down clamps the tube firmly. It should be relatively easy to fabricate
something similar. Of course it also had the advantage of taking solder
well, wish I had more of them!
