500ohms total resistance? Why lower? I would think higher would cause less ringdown disipation (and probley be higher voltage rated) tho slightly higher NST disipation

You can use 10 Watt resistors if you keep the value at 250 Ohms and use 2 in series. Also, watch the temp on the resistors and limit your run times accordingly.
