Since I didn't follow this subject from the beginning, I don't know the 
diameter of brass tube that needs to be bent. However, in addition to 
annealling and using a homemade tube bender as just described, the tube can 
be heated then filled with pure lead. The lead, once cooled, will prevent 
the tube walls from collapsing. The lead is melted out after the bend is 
completed.

Also, I've had better luck using heavier gauge tube rather than too thin as 
the thinner tends to break easier.

The above has worked very well for instruments I've made.
