Hi

At what frequency is your coil resonating?
If 2,400,000,000Hz is divisible by your frequency then it's quite possible
that it "sucks" all the power around your coil. As a test: Touch your
toroid (or better: Try to draw an arc from it) since the energy has to go
somewhere.

Hi
Although I have seen many Tesla coils that suck, I don't think that a
coil sucks energy out of the space around it, leaving none over for anyone
else. Energy incident upon it may be absorbed by its acting as a resonant
antenna. This energy must be either reradiated or dissipated as heat. A
grounded coil may act as an RF shield for the area behind it, but does not
reach out to grab passing waves.
