I spoke to a person who got some unknown size steel ball bearing to "roll"
down some sort of set of rails.

The projectile will fly away from the direction the power is attached, the
magnetic flux wants to make the conductors fly outwards. Since the rails are
fixed, only the prjectile can move, and tries to fly away.
