Tesla and quack medical products

Quite a few quack medical gizmos use Tesal's ideas to make them work.I have 
one that uses high frequencie enegry (with no direct contact with the body) 
to internally heat body parts. This unit will also light a florescent lamp 
from a distance of two feet. If i hold or touch one of the connected pads 
and hold the lamp well away from me ,it will still light.My question is 
,why is there no feeling of shock  to me when i do this?
