Re: small secondary question

Hi Miles,

I'm not sure what the resistivity is for platinum wire (possibly an alloy), but if it's #30, it's about 800 turns with a frequency nearing 2MHz. Is your primary LC resonant at 2MHz? (probably not).

Take care,
Bart

Please see this link to a little secondary tried.

There are some winding errors.

It is 1 and 1/4 inch in diameter and 9 and 1/2 inches of wound wire onto
pvc.

It has an unknown number of turns of what I was told was 30G platinum wire.

It measures exactly 15 ohms, and not open or short circuit.

When I spark this little guy up inside a primary and tank that are known
good (from another working coil)

I get nothing out the topwire. With toploads I still get nothing.

Any advice would be appreciated.
