Re: Primary coil connections

Yes, I do the same. I want the primary inner turn at near the same potential as the lower secondary windings, thus reducing a potential difference between the two coils at their nearest proximity to reduce pri to sec arcing. So far, so good!

Take care,
Bart

not critical, but we always attach the series cap to the outermost turn and use the other turn to return to the sparkgap.

Is there any validity in claiming that wiring should go:

       --------------------||--------------------x (inner primary tap)
              |           tank cap
              O
              O  main gap
              |
--------------------------------------------------z(outer primary tap)

Are connections X & Z inner-changeable??
