You might try to degrease the crack with MEK or acetone and then put some AL tape on it. That is one of the advertized uses of AL tape. Keep the tape isolated from anything external incase there is a internal arc to the tape. At least worth a try.

Marine tex is a 2 part white epoxy that will actually cure underwater if needed. Made for repairing cracked hulls and the like. Very strong. I don't know if the presence of oil will bother it, but it might be worth looking into. It is a bit pricey, but you should see it at your local boatyard or boating supply place.
