Re: New type of coil needs a name... OL-DRSSTC 7

Hi all,

Hmm, "Terry coil" seems terribly informal. There's probably at least several hundred thousand "Terrys" on this planet. We
list members are definitely a close-knit community, hence the
wide knowledge and acceptance of the term "Terry Filter" Try asking someone outside the pupman list what a Terry
filter is, though! I would lean toward the "Terry Fritz Coil"
as a proper name. Why not? The "Richard Quick Gap" sure stuck with the copper tube segmented spark gap design and I'm
not even sure if Richard Quick truly "invented" that SG design.
Just my thoughts...

Fritz Generator? Fritzoformer?? Terresonator???
...Um "Fritz Coil" is close, but how about simply the "Terry Coil"? The "Terry Filter" is well known, and this would follow that naming convention, and it almost sounds like "Tesla Coil". Terry Coil.

Why not simply a Fritz coil?

Yes Matt, I agree with you.

"The Fritz Coil"; that is a great choice.
