High RPM gives high pps. I've done some simulations with STR and if the pps isn't high, the voltage goes out of sight. If the power source is X, you need Bang_energy * BPS that matches. If BPS is too low, bang_energy and corresponding voltage will be too high. Sync opertion at 240 pps in the simulations was even too small to control the voltage..

STR is more likely to cause re-ignition but usually doesn't.  The main
reason for running STR coils at high rpm is to get enough
power throughput through the system in order to get long sparks.
Most coils are pretty tolerant of a wide range of parameters but
at some point re-ignition problems will occur, if one goes too far in the
wrong direction with one or more parameters.
