You mean like unifying the forces and providing more useful
models for understanding subatomic behavior?  Or perhaps you mean
the concept should be able quantify dark matter, the fabric of
space-time, and how the two produce visible matter, which in turn
shows us how to produce an unlimited stream of new subatomic
particles, which can be put to work?

What kind of uses do you have in mind?

Also, why is it that a new theory is not allowed to provide
better explanations for uses present theories already provide?
For example, if a present theory describes a subatomic particle
as an abstract wave concept, and a new theory describes the same
subatomic particle in discrete geometrical terms, would that not
constitute a good use for a new theory?
