For some reason, the France-branded 4/20 NSTs were quoted by several
distributors as being over $50 each.  I then found that Actown (also
makes a line of open-frame NST's, and any number of their distributors
quoted, from distant memory, something in the high $20's.  I bought one,
it worked, and although it was indeed open frame and not potted, the
core construction was such that the shunts could not be removed.  It's
possible that a careful session with a drill press might succeed in
reducing the core-area, effectively reducing the shunt and increasing
the current, but I've not tried that.

I just tried Googling Actown, and saw a link "Actuant Acquires Actown".
They still appear to make outdoor NST's, but jkust looking quickly,
didn't see the small open frame units :-(
