Well, if Tesla did it, many people out there want to follow in his foot
steps. That doesn't mean that it's necessarily a good idea! Tesla also
exposed himself to excessive amounts of X-rays but that doesn't mean that
anyone else should do it!

Moderator's note:

The general consensus of those on the list who know and the position of
the tesla list is that running the discharge through your body or even
drawing a spark from the top of the coil to your hand or an object held in
your hand is A Bad Idea.

I don't know YTF you'd want to do that or take such a
risk.
