RE: 1350 KVA Current limiting

Hi,

We used to run dozens (hundreds) of variacs for testing...

Replace the stupid fuse with the appropriate size of copper pipe. Get a hydraulic circuit breaker from just about anywhere (cheaper used!) to replace it. We used to "pop" them all the time. If you don't blow the one you have it is fine, but spend the cash on a nice circuit breaker rather than another fuse. Many vendors do have the fuses for a "good" price. But don't bother... It also make a nice power switch.

Cheers,

        Terry

I have bypassed the fuse since they are $50 each plus $20
shipping. According to the wiring diagram, the fuse is entirely
in the output lead and not between windings.
