RE: Maxwell 37667 pulse caps

Chip,

Don't feel bad, I have my pair as do many others, I'm sure. They are usually
sold as "out of medical equipment". Must be a filter or something, not
defibrillators. I'm going to try mine in a HV,Hp full wave doubler circuit
using a potential transformer @ 14400 ( these are mini pole pigs used for HV
metering by the utility companies. Ask your friend if he can get some of
those, some are 240/120! Much easier to move around at about 3KVA (they can
be paralleled for more power) They generally have a high built in "BIL"
rating (Built in Lightning standoff) which says a lot about the insulation.
Anacronyms go with the territory! I think there is place on Pupman that
defines them.

So you are saying even though Maxwell rates these caps at 500 PPS (pulses
per second), They are really one pulse per second caps? Does everyone agree?
Has those that have used these caps been disappointed. Would I be better off
listing them on ebay and selling to the next sucker before I destroy them?
