Need Advice Please - Induction Coil Tar Insulation Repair

Original poster: "Tedd Payne" <teddp2@xxxxxxxxxxx>

The "tar" insulation has cracked inside the case of my induction coil.

I'm familiar with re-melting the tar in a neon transformer in an oven, but I don't know if the tar is the same, and also I don't want to risk damaging the wood case on the induction coil.

If re-melting the tar is not feasible for some reason, then maybe there's some way to fill the crack so that it restores good insulation, even at the boundary between the old tar and new crack-filler?

If you have info on a good solution, I'd like to know the details.

Thanks in advance for your help!
