I want to know more about using an internal primary. It seems like it
would
be over coupled but, I have no idea really. How is the coupling figured
out
with an internal primary?

Operating at 6 kW (220 X 30 Amps) you would be luck to get 80"
discharges. I remember a guy who was running a 38 kW coil and getting
55' - 105' arcs. The coil was 5' in diameter, had an internal primary
and stood about 25' tall.
