Hi, there is the aspect ratio which is the height to diameter ratio. most of
us want to run between 1200 and 1500 turns over the ratio you pick to run
at.
so if i run a 3 1/2 coil at 6:1 i should have about 21 inches of secondary
winding. divide 1 inch by the wire diameter will tell you how many turns per
inch times 21 inches.  i havent the formulea handy. cul brian f.
