A search of the United States Patent and Trademark Office website here: http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/gate.exe?f=searchss&state=dand.1.1 shows that Tesla is trademarked by Tesla Engineering Limited COMPANY UNITED KINGDOM as of October 11, 2005.

I wonder if it might be a good idea for some Tesla Coil enthusiast with the right means to trademark "Tesla Coil" specifically to prevent this sort of foolishness from happening?
