RE: Ammeter readings with MOT power supply

Al,

I have purchased capacitors from usamfg several times. They are a good
supplier of microwave oven and motor start caps. I haven't seen any of
their caps that would work for MMC caps. List wisdom is the caps designed
for DC or 50-60 Hz AC service are not suitable for high power RF use. The
dielectrics are very lossy at RF and will overheat, sometimes causing the
caps to explode.

Justin,

Those prices are awesome (the second link). Can you comment on
having purchased from there before? Also, I am wondering if those 600volt
2.2uF high frequency AC capacitors for $.25 (25 cents!) would be useful to
string together for tesla coil use. Does anyone have any experience with
these?
