   Yes Ed, it's copper,,,from a very large 3 phase transformer.

    Just a matter of getting rigged up for it. A slow ,low geared
    winder,
    leather gloves,patience and LOTS of determination.No problem.

My core is 3 X 4.25 inches,cross section,1 foot long steel laminate.
I will form a rectangular 2 foot long pvc pipe to slide the core in and
wind one
end,for 1'. I have a motor driven satelite dish screw actuator to slide
the core.

This goes between my 40 amp powerstat and the pig.

No idea how many layers to make.I've repaired over 2K computer
monitors,but a mathamatician I am NOT.

Question:Do I wind this like a solonoid,or do I put insulation between
layers?
