If you watch the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics tonight, you?ll
see some flashy work from a company in Baraboo.
The Resonance Research Corporation created a Tesla-coil device which sends
flashes of lightning up to 100 feet in length. They?re generated from a
pair of domes, and they shoot out 20 million volts of electricity. The
coil is 40 feet long and it will also be used in the Olympic closing
ceremony on August 24.
President D.C. Cox says a Chinese amusement park found out about his
company on the Internet and bought a Tesla coil for its water park. An
Olympic organizer is connected with the facility and was able to get a
similar device for the ceremonies.
