RE: [TCML] Ground

What constitutes a satisfactory ground??

Telsa's "grip on the earth" was rather spectacular and was 150feet deep. My
Uncle lived in Shorem, LI. The below grade top soil is black shale. Well
saturated. Wiki- "Black shale containing about 5 per cent organic matter has
very low electrical resistivity in comparison to shale which contains no
organic matter. The low resistivity of the black shale is attributed to
carbon, produced by pyrolysis reactions associated with diagensis, located
at grain boundaries in the black shale. Some conductivity anomalies in the
Earth's crust and upper mantle may be caused by carbon produced in this
manner.

Interesting, hey?

In general the wetter the better , the longer the better. Where I live, 6"
in the summer would be no good , 6' would be ok for a NST. IMHO , read

Is a 6 in copper pipe pounded into the ground sufficient for grounding, or
does the pipe need to be longer? Does the moisture level of the soil have
any effect?
